We are a bunch of committed
people.
All of us are or were from the National University of Singapore
Buddhist Society, Nanyang Technological University Buddhist
Society, Nanyang Polytechnic Buddhist Society and so on
and so forth.
CAS, also known as CASOTAC (Charitable Assistance Society
of Thousand-Arm Chenrezig) was officially set up and registered
under the Registry of Societies in 1995. In 2004, CAS joined
the Singapore Commission of Charities and is now formally
regarded as one of the Voluntary Welfare Organisation(VWO)
in Singapore. We have done or are organising many activities:
- care and counselling for the chronically sick and visually
handicapped, tuition for students from financially challenged
and not financially challenged background, professional
advice for some tertiary institution's Buddhist societies,
establishment of some local Buddhist centers, food distribution
for financially depleted families, assistance to any charity
organisations both Buddhist and non-Buddhist, etc.
We are or used to be founders, staff advisers, presidents,
vice- presidents, secretaries, treasurers or active, dispensable
or indispensable members of some tertiary institution's
Buddhist Societies, local Buddhist centers.
On a private basis, we support more than 200
over
monks and nuns in their education, health care and many
other things from all over the world: Serajhe, Drepung Loseling,
Gyudmey Drikung Kagyu, Drukpa Lineage, Nyingma, Sri Lankan,
Burmese, etc.
In additon, we are actively doing our sincerest prayers
to Lord Buddha, Mother Tara, Guru Padmasambhava and all
Buddhas of all directions and time to all our precious and
dear mother sentient beings all over, above and across the
universe. We also did counselling with SANA and the Singapore
Buddhist Federation.
We have no landed properties, no Dharma centres, no accumulated money, etc. -
so we have less headache and heartache.
Although not always successful, we only have the purest
wish to benefit other entities. "Entities" because
it includes all beings on Mother Earth.
We are very grateful to many, many things. "Things"
because it includes both ordinary beings and extra-ordinary
beings.
The extra-ordinary beings include Tenzin Gyatso or the Dalai Lama, the Buddha
of Compassion, the late Ganden Trisur Rinpoche, Lama or
Khenpo Dorje from the local Sakya Centre, our most loving
